The Marian Foundation
Welcome to The Marian Foundation
The Seton Miracles
From 1991-1993, on the outskirts of the nation's capital, hundreds of statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary were reported weeping before thousands of astonished witnesses. Some statues added or rotated colors. Numerous rosaries changed color. Some people reported seeing the “miracle of the sun” while others noticed a powerful scent of roses when there were no flowers or other reasons for such a fragrance. Powerful conversionary experiences abounded. Most of the events seemed to be associated with a humble Catholic priest, Father James Bruse, who also received five wounds on his body replicating the crucifixion wounds of Christ, also known as “stigmata.”
The Marian Foundation was founded in 1993 to preserve the story of these miracles. The Marian Foundation accomplishes this through its various publications, most notably through THE SETON MIRACLES, Weeping Statues and Other Wonders, now in its fourth edition (revised). A DVD of Eyewitness Testimony is also available on YouTube https://youtu.be/J1-nW2s2O_o.

Your mother in heaven is crying for you. Come back to her Son. Come back to God. Come home. Dry her tears with prayers from your heart.

The Marian Foundation logo
The Marian Foundation logo portrays the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the foot of the Cross, where her heart will always be. It is overlaid with a tear, representing her particular manifestation at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and lies beneath the figure of a dove, the traditional symbol of the Holy Spirit, raising a wing of flame for the Divine Love which encompasses all.
THE SETON MIRACLES,
Weeping Statues and Other Wonders
James L. Carney records the events as they unfolded in this "journal-style" account. In addition, the book contains many beautiful full color images of the weeping Mary statues; a discussion of other famous statue weeping episodes and a detailed rebuttal to skeptical challengers.
About Us
A non-profit organization, comprised solely of volunteers
The Marian Foundation, a non-profit organization, is comprised solely of volunteers who believe that the re-telling of these miraculous events increases devotion to the Son through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who loves us so much that she weeps her precious tears for her children.
The Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and publication of the wondrous events which occurred at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Lake Ridge, Virginia and in neighboring parishes from 1991-1993.
An Appeal to Eyewitnesses:
As time moves forward from the original events recorded in The Seton Miracles, the need to preserve the testimony of eyewitnesses becomes more important.
If you were an eyewitness to the weeping statues of Mary or any of the supernatural phenomena
during this time period, and would be interested in sharing your individual experience, please
let us know and we will contact you as we pursue this project of memorializing this history for
the future.
